Creativity

AT CENTRAL VINEYARD

We believe God is a creator. From the beginning, He has brought life, order and beauty. For us, being made in His image means creativity already exists among us. It can show up in words, art, music, design, and imagination. But,  it can also show up in quieter ways, through prayer, care for others, faithfulness, and everyday choices.

We want to make space for both the seen and unseen.

Creativity helps us notice what God is doing and respond with honesty and hope. It can open up reflection, invite prayer, and help others see Jesus more clearly. As a church, we want to grow in this together as we join God in the renewal of all things here in Northampton.

This is a new step for us as a church. We want to begin building a culture where creativity is welcomed, valued, and shared. This is not about performance or comparison. It is about paying attention to God’s work in you and giving it a form that can bless others.

Ephesians 2:10 says

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

Your life is purposeful. Your story matters. As God continues His work of renewal, your creativity can help tell that story in ways words alone sometimes cannot.

Every story whispers
His name.

Your life sits inside a much bigger story. Scripture shows God working through generations, through ordinary people, and through moments that often feel small. God’s story is about creation, rescue, renewal, and His loving reign. When you place your own story within His, it begins to point beyond you.

This season, as spring brings new life, we want to explore how your personal story connects to God’s story. Your joys, doubts, losses, questions, and growth all matter. When shared with care, they can help others see Jesus more clearly.

So, what are we inviting you into?

We are inviting creative responses that reflect how God is at work in your life as you focus on knowing Jesus and following His way.

This could include:

• Poetry or spoken word

• Visual art such as painting, illustration, photography, or mixed media

• Design or typography

• Short written pieces or reflections

• Other creative forms you feel drawn to

You do not need to be a professional artist. You do not need finished answers. We are looking for honesty, faith, and attentiveness to God.

How to approach it

Begin with your own story. Ask simple questions.

  • Where have you noticed God bringing life?

  • Where has your story felt fragile, unfinished, or hopeful?

  • How does Jesus shape the way you see your past, present, or future?

Your work can be subtle or clear, quiet or bold. Leave room for reflection. Let it point to God without forcing it.

Who is this for?

This invitation is open to anyone who calls Central Vineyard home. All ages and all levels of experience are welcome. We want this to reflect the life of our church family, rooted in Northampton and shaped by God’s work among us.

How the work will be used

The work will be shared as a gift to our church community and our town. It is meant to invite reflection, prayer, and wonder, and to help people notice God’s story and their place within it. We have created a place at both our sites to share you work. We’ll also be sharing pieces via social media in an attempt to bless those outside our Sunday gatherings.

Every story matters. Every story can point to Him.
