Some of you have asked what our response as a church community should be towards the refugee crisis in Europe.
We are sure you will be very aware of the crisis and as a church we want to respond to help those displaced people seek sanctuary.
As John & Debby Wright, Incoming National Directors for the Vineyard write:
The refugee crisis facing Europe is deeply disturbing and something that we simply cannot ignore. As a movement we feel compelled to help these displaced people. There may be other ways to get involved, but for now we would like to highlight two things you might like to do, either as an individual or as a church.”
Over this week we will be receiving donations for those caught up in the current Refugee Crisis. Money will go to Tearfund who have been working with partners in many of the affected nations where the refugees are arriving from, providing desperately needed help and support.
If you would like to give online you can do so by following the link below or by bringing your donations on Sunday 20th September clearly marked 'Refugee Crisis'.
We are also looking for ways we might be able to help practically, especially along side other local efforts - so please watch this space for more information.
